Many people are embarrassed when talking about yeast infection; women are usually more affected of this infection than men. They are generally called Candida albicans or Candidiasis. This is a fungus that is link to vaginitis and is commonly found in areas that are moist like mouth, vagina or crotch area and any other parts that has increased moisture.
Fungus can multiply easily causing yeast infection, cases like sexual transmission, for those people who practice multiple sex partners and those couple who do not engage in protected sex, change in vaginal environment in times of hormonal imbalances like menstruation and during pregnancy, those people who are immunocompromise like HIV patients who have difficulty fighting bacteria inside and outside of the body, patients with diabetes increases the risk of infection because elevated sugar levels in the urine observed in diabetic patients are like very nutritious to bacteria, patients who use some antibiotic or prolonged use of this medicine can also attack not only the bad bacteria but also the good bacteria that prevent these funguses from multiplying.
Another possible cause for this infection is bad hygiene. For those people who share personal things like used towels, pants, skirts, pantyhose, under wares, shirts or other thing that can be a ground for transmission when it is used by people who has the infection. That’s why it is important to refrain from using clothes over and over again and have them washed after using. It is must that you should keep it dry before putting them in storage. Proper way of isolating or separating clothes while washing it is a good way of preventing transfer of infection.
Also avoid using harsh chemicals like perfume or soaps, which disrupts the normal balance of pH in our body. These chemicals may cause allergic reactions, which promote blister formation and even skin rashes causes likely bacterial infection if not properly treated.
People whom most likely to use sex toys or other products such as condoms that has nonoxynol-9 products, which kills HIV virus spermicidal lubricant. Other suggests the use of plastic (polyurethane) condoms is a good option.
Although yeast infection should be treated immediately, there are some types of yeast found in the body like in bowels, mouth, digestive tract, bowels, skin and vagina and it is harmless only in certain amounts. But in conditions were there is abundance of yeast, this can develop other yeast or fungal infection like Balanitis, Intertrigo, Moniliasis, thrush and vulva-vaginal candidiasis.
Be observant to watch for common signs and symptoms like discharges that are thick, that appears like cottage cheese and red spots found on skin. Common symptoms like itching & pain describe as burning discomfort in vagina or even upon urinating, pain during sexual intercourse, yeast smelling odor in women and burning pain on penis during intercourse and rash especially after using a condom.
These symptoms should trigger us to find and seek consult to a doctor immediately. The experts on these things my help lessen pain that is experience and eventually treating the condition and may give us knowledge of preventing the recurrence of the infection.
