Fight Cold and Flu Tips and Myths

15 Jun

Fight cold and flu tips and myths is truly on everyone’s mind these days. Why? Everyone thinks that is the only season that we can get sick with a bad cold or the flu bug. Well, in my opi nion this is another one of those myths of having or getting a cold or the flu.

When our immune systems are challenged by staying indoors more, over-heated and crowded places, others coughing and sneezing without taking preventive procedures and of course, the over consumption of sugar-loaded snacks, drinks and desserts this time of year are our biggest challenges to overcome.

Stress can challenge our immune systems to the point where it weakens and attracts viruses to us. Our jobs, our families, our daily rush to get everything accomplished add to our stress levels and to the point we don’t even realize it until the cold or flu hit and we have to slow down.

Every year lots of us get flu complications and viruses such as the common cold. This is upwards of 200,000 people with as many as over 200 different variation of the virus’s out there..

Is a cold caused by you being cold? not necessarily as its a version of a virus, but getting the chills maybe the sign of an attack by a virus. Drink some healthy tea and broth to help loosen the congestion that has built up or is building up. Dehydration is another serious issue for us and that is another reason to drink lots of good water, healthy coffee and teas and leave the sugar-loaded drinks alone.

Eat healthy, drink lots of raw fruit juice and vegetable juices, and eat moderately when a cold is attacking. Drinking of the raw fruit and vegetables allows it to be easily digested and to feed our over-stressed immune systems at any time.

Please leave the over-the-counter drugs alone as they dehydrate our bodies and further add toxins to our already challenged bodies. Eat naturally and drink organic freshly-squeezed juices and you will notice a great improvement in your health. I love to drink a tea made with chopped raw garlic and steep in for a minute or 2 and drink it several times a day. You might try this as its nature’s antibiotic for us all. I do this all year long and rarely have a cold or the flu.

Exercise out in the fresh air as much as possible and you can avoid most cold and flu viruses, keep the body in a healthy,stress-free position as much as possible. Laugh often, Love much and be grateful for life.
