Kitten Sneezing – 4 Reasons a Feline Sneeze Might Be More Than Just an Atishoo Moment

27 Apr

An odd one off kitten sneeze is nothing to worry about. Continuous kitten sneezing can be a symptom of infection. There are various reasons your kitten may be sneezing, here are a few of them.

1. The kitten could be suffering from allergies. Kittens can be allergic to a variety of things. These include allergies to dust, pollen, mold, cigarette smoke, chemicals, carpet cleaners, aerosols, candle smoke, dust in kitty litter and some other things. Similar to when a human being gets hay fever, or is allergic to dust and sneezes – the kittens allergic reaction is sneezing.

2. Continuous sneezing could also be a symptom of Upper Respiratory Infection. This is very common and contagious among cats, it is like a cat version of the flu. URI affect the nose, mouth and sinuses, caused by bacteria, viruses, and fungi. Other symptoms of this kind of infection include fever, wet nose, coughing, and watery eyes.

3. A kitten could also be sneezing because a foreign object is stuck in its respiratory tract. If this is a case – you should be able to see if something there by using a flashlight. You can attempt to remove the object with tweezers, but it would be a good idea to take her to the vet.

4. Tooth decay also cause continuous sneezing in kittens. Other symptoms are bad breath, swollen gums, and puss in the mouth area. Young kittens are not very likely to experience tooth decay but it is possible.

Various different things can cause sneezing in kittens. If you notice continuous sneezing in your kitten, and you can’t see clearly why, take your kitten to the veterinarian.

Are We In For A New Pandemic Of Asian Flu?

26 Apr

In 1957 there was a very serious Asian flu pandemic that killed anywhere from 1 million people to 4 million people. Different bodies give different numbers but even at one million you are looking at a huge number of people. Anyway this Asian flu strain was finally dealt with and all was fine again until October of 2004. This is the year that an American lab sent out samples of this deadly, deadly strain of Asian flu to different labs all over the world. Now I am not talking about a few measly deadly samples of the Asian flu, I am talking about 3,700 samples of the Asian flu. Did you get the all over the world part?

Now of course the US is scrambling to try to fix this horrible mistake, they are doing their best to get all of these wayward samples of the Asian flu destroyed but, well, good luck. He labs did not know they were going to be getting such a potentially deadly virus sent to them. So how did this happen you ask?

There is a body known as the College of American Pathologists and what they do every now and then is send different viruses to labs all over the world. They do this so that these labs can test to see how good they are doing. The CAP is supposed to know what they are sending out though, it is only the receiving lab that is in the dark. Well, the CAP thought that they were sending out a regular old Influenza A virus but ooops, not so much. Instead they sent out one of the most deadly viruses in human history: the Asian flu.

The thing is that if this Asian flu has gotten out or if it does the world could be in big trouble. None of us who are born after 1968 will be able to fend this Asian flu off at all, we all have absolutely zero immunity to it, this means that the Asian flu will hit us just as hard or worse than it did the people in 1957.

Supposedly this whole Asian flu episode is some sort of misunderstanding, though how this could have happened really is still a mystery. How could 3,700 samples of Asian flu get put out into the world by accident? They were sent to Asia, the Middle East, North America and South America as well as Europe.

What strikes fear into the heart of so many in the know is that these test kits that got sent out were treated like other test kits are treated which is not a good thing when what they contain is a deadly Asian flu. These samples of the Asian flu should have been handled with extreme care and a high level of containment but they were not. Since these types of kits usually contain something harmless they were treated as such. This doe not bode well for us, the public when it comes to protecting us from the Asian flu.

Is China Testing Bio Weapons on Its Own People?

25 Apr

Well the conspiracy theorists are out in full force I see. I had an interesting meeting the other day at a coffee shop and talked with a highly paranoid chap, who claimed to have some real insider information. He said that the Chinese were experimenting with their own populations with new vaccines for bird flu. He later said that an experiment with the N5H1 strain in a South Eastern province yielded better than expected results and they were forced to quarantine the area and kill thousands of birds and nearly 200 humans. He also said that they made mandatory the vaccination of all families in the vicinity to test their newest vaccine on the N5H1 Bird Flu strain.

Interesting how people get carried away, except he sounded legitimate and said he had insider friends at the CDC and that this Bird Flu virus was also to be tested in Russia, where the leadership had found a problematic area filled with discontents. Anyway, without concurring with his theory I went to the Internet and indeed, China had killed many birds and given a vaccine to many in the province, which they admitted. We know China generally goes not admit much when it comes to these things. After all they denied for years their AIDS problem, which is reaching huge percentages of their population and most recently they did not admit their SARS problem, mostly for economic reasons.

As we study plausible deniability we seem to see a pattern, which could justify the conspiracy theorists, meanwhile the WHO is in fact telling everyone that the Pandemic Bird Flu is only a matter of time and it will go World Wide. The CDC and even the outgoing Federal Health Department gentleman warned of this. Today in the news Russia has the Bird Flu spreading. And guess what in the same province where China had the Bird Flu out beak they now have pig disease.

Well, I asked the gentleman, let’s just call him; Mr. Conspiracy Theorist, he said that he read a report that indicated that humans can get the bird flu thru pigs who had their respitory systems infected. Those humans who handled the pigs would get it and thus the humans would spread it. Now then throw in a flu season and normal issues of human interaction and you have one heck of a full-fledged conspiracy started in China? Could it be so? China is the only country so far with a vaccine and we are still unclear if it actually works, but the Chinese Scientists know.

Meanwhile Mr. Conspiracy Theorists tells me that the powers that be want to limit the populations of the world. Interestingly enough that would not be so bad for the future of humanity or our shortage of water supplies in the next 20-years? However is all this real or is this, Mr. Conspiracy Theorist just drinking too much coffee and listening to too much late night radio?

Flu Shots – The Alzheimer’s Flu Shot Connection

25 Apr

Has your health habit of taking a yearly flu shot become a victim of someone else’s profit margin -i.e. a pharmaceutical company that produces the vaccine?

Senior citizens, wanting to stay well through the winter, often are willing to stand in line to get one. Unfortunately they don’t know that it weakens immunity, and worse. For years we have been brain washed into thinking it is a yearly necessity. Who profits – you or the big corporations that produce the vaccine? Are they really concerned about your welfare rather than their “bottom line”? Do they ever mention the Alzheimer’s risk?

Here are some facts to consider as you make up your mind.

1. When supplies of vaccine are limited, priority is given to senior citizens and
health care workers and young children. Health care workers are opting less for
flu shots because they are aware of the health hazards. Less than 40% of health
care workers took flu shots in 2006.

2. Protection for the elderly can be as low as 30%. even when they take the shot.

3. The numbers of deaths from the flu in the 65+ group has been misrepresented.
Deaths from pneumonia have been included with the flu deaths. In 2005 the
CDC reported 62,804 deaths from the flu. Actually, there were 60,998 deaths
from pneumonia and 1806 from the flu.

4. The CDC reports that 90% of deaths from influenza occur among the elderly. It
is nearly impossible to credit the flu vaccine for prolonging lives in this age
group, since 65% of all deaths from all causes happens among the elderly.

BUT, the biggest cause for concern to me is what has been reported by Dr. Hugh Fudenberg, MD, a brilliant and renowned immunogeneticist and biologist, that if you had 5 consecutive flu shots between 1970 and 1980 (the years of his study) your chance of developing Alzheimer’s is 10 times higher than if you had had none or 1 or 2 shots. That is scary! When I learned that, I took no more flu shots. He said that what causes the cognitive dysfunction is the buildup of mercury and aluminum in the brain from the shot.

Here’s how to stay healthy without a flu shot:

1. Get plenty of sunshine and vitamin D, and take Omega 3′s.

2. Take daily a good liquid completely absorbable multivitamin/mineral supplement.

3. Avoid sugar (it is an immune system depressant).

4. Get adequate sleep and avoid getting overstressed.

5. Wash your hands frequently and avoid close contact with sick people.

6. Exercise regularly.

You don’t need a flu shot to stay well unless your immune system is compromised, in which case you should follow your doctor’s advice.

How To Stop Pain From Arthritis And Rheumatism

23 Apr

Having Arthritis, fibromyalgia and joint pain is certainly no joke. There are lots of treatments out there to help. Ansaid is an anti-inflammatory drug which is very efficient and is tolerated by the body well. It can reduce pain from inflammation of joints caused by rheumatism and various forms of arthritis.

Treatment Details:

As Ansaid could increase the risk of developing ulcers and stomach bleeding, patients should not have a history of digestive problems. Arthritis is an ongoing condition; therefore Ansaid requires long-term administration and constant medical monitoring. Your doctor will advise that you take Ansaid with food or an antacid to reduce any possible digestive problems. However, Ansaid is normally tolerated by the body well.

What side effects can be expected?

Ansaid could be potentially dangerous only for people with digestive problems. In exceptional cases, patients could feel some slight discomfort. These could include diarrhea and abdominal pain, stomach aches and nausea and swelling due to fluid retention and urinary tract infections. If there is fluid retention, this could cause weight gain and therefore Ansaid cannot be used in conjunction with water pills or diuretics. This is important because if such precautions are not taken, this could lead to kidney problems.

In a similar vein, Ansaid should not be taken if you suffer from heart problems or you take blood thinning medication as Ansaid can slow down blood clotting. For example, in the case of an open wound, the body’s capacity to heal would be slower.
Other issues with Ansaid medication

Although you may have to take antacids because of the risk of developing digestive problems, it is also true that Ansaid absorption may be impaired because of the combination with medication such as Zantac.

Furthermore, please do not ignore a former sensitivity to aspirin, since there are some common working principles for Ansaid and asprin. Also, Ansaid could cause digestive problems, so please avoid spicy food or anything likely to cause indigestion during treatment with Ansaid.

Why is Influenza So Dangerous For Diabetics?

22 Apr

Influenza is more dangerous for diabetics than it is for others. Why is this so? Any kind of sickness raises blood-sugar levels in diabetics. In fact, an Illness can prevent a diabetic from eating properly, which further affects blood-glucose levels. Diabetes compromises the immune system by causing people to become more vulnerable to severe cases of the flu, (Centers for Disease Control (CDC)). Diabetics who contract the flu usually get very sick, a lot sicker than other people who get the flu. In many cases, diabetics with the flu end up in the hospital.

People with diabetes can help keep themselves safe from the flu by getting a flu shot yearly, provided that they are not allergic to it, like many people are. The flu is definitely not good for everyone. Many people complain of getting sick after taking the flu shot. However, for the most part, it is very good in preventing the flu. It is recommended that everyone with diabetes, even pregnant women, should get a yearly flu shot, and the best time to get one is in October or mid-November before the flu season begins, (CDC).

According to the CDC, if one has diabetes, a flu shot can be the difference between life and death. In addition to the influenza vaccine, diabetics should also get the pneumococcal vaccine along with the Tetanus/Diphtheria (Td) Toxoid vaccine. All measures should be taken to stay as safe as possible from infections.

There are some important measures one can take to avoid getting sick. Washing hands regularly is a very good practice in stopping the spread of influenza and other infections. One should avoid contact with sick people. Influenza for example is thought to spread from person-to-person through coughing, sneezing, or contact with infected people. If one is feeling under the weather, the CDC recommends that one should stay home from work or school to limit contact with others to keep them from getting sick also.

Regardless of the circumstances, diabetics should continue taking their medications (pills or insulin), even if they cannot eat while sick with the flu. Health care providers may at times advise diabetic patients to take more insulin during sickness, depending on the situation, (CDC).

Very close supervision should be employed by diabetics when they are experiencing any form of sickness. Here are some critical steps to follow in the case of illness: test blood-glucose levels every hour–all results should be recorded and monitored; drink extra (calorie-free) liquids, and try to eat normally; if eating normally isn’t possible, eat soft foods and liquids containing the same amount of carbohydrates one normally consumes; weigh oneself every day-losing weight without effort could be a sign of high blood-glucose; and check body temperature every morning and evening–an onset of fever could be a sign of infection, (CDC).

One should call her or his health care provider or go to the emergency room if any of the following occurs: feeling too sick to eat normally-unable to keep down food for more than 6 hours; episodes of severe diarrhea; losing 5 pounds or more; body temperature is over 101 degrees F; blood-glucose is lower than 60 mg/dL or remains over 300 mg/dL; experience moderate or large amounts of ketones in urine; feeling sleepy or unable to think clearly; and having trouble breathing, (CDC).

Diabetics have to be extra careful when it comes to the flu because diabetes itself compromises the immune system of diabetics. Therefore, prevention of the flu is the best medicine. Although the flu shot doesn’t agree with everyone, it is still the most effective remedy against the flu. So, all efforts should be made in getting a flu shot every year.

Please visit the CDC for more information on diabetes and influenza.

The Truth About Under Sink Water Filters

21 Apr

There are many good reasons to install an undersink water filter. Water coming into our homes from the water processing plant is contaminated with many different dangerous substances.

We need undersink water filters to destroy these contaminates before we drink the water. Drinking unhealthy water will cause us many problems and leave us wide open to getting many diseases, the two most deadly being heart disease and cancer.

Having an undersink water filter is smart if we want to protect our health from these diseases. If you live in the U.S. you are fortunate to be living in a country with running water to your home. The water we get piped from our water facilities is not something we should take for granted, nor should we take it’s safety for granted.

The government sets standards for our water, but many of those standards are not met, and even if they are met, there are many chemicals in our ground water, rivers, lakes and streams that have no legal limit set on them. There are just too many chemicals in this country, and the E.P.A. does not have safe standards set for all of them.

We need to appreciate the water we have, but at the same time be sure it is safe and healthy for our consumption. The best way to do this is by installing a water home purification unit. There are many to choose from.

One popular model is the undersink water filter. This unit is installed under your kitchen sink out of the way. To get fresh healthy water you just have to open the spigot and you’ll be drinking pure clean water in seconds after installation.

Under sink water filters are great if you are short on counter space, because they are underneath the sink. They are easy to install. I am not a particularly handy person and I got one and installed my own. And to my surprise I did everything correctly and now drink healthy water any time I want.

When choosing an undersink water filter, look for one with granular activated carbon filter, sub micron filter, multi-block filter with an ion exchange and you will be on your way to healthy drinking water. You can find these units for under $150.

Great tasting, healthy water will cost you less than 10 cents a gallon. Don’t delay, buy one today.

Getting Clear Skin Isn’t About Some Fancy Cream – It’s About Healing Your Internal Imbalances

21 Apr

The acne business is a large entrenched industry, with huge amounts of money to throw around on advertising and brain washing. Even the pharmaceutical industry has a big stake in this business because of the prescription on antibiotics in the treatment of acne.

The fact is that antibiotics is the worst treatment for acne ever devised. Does it work? Well, yes, it can work fairly well. But, these wonder drugs will kill off your good as well as harmful bacteria in your intestines, causing serious damage to your immune system. Also, new conditions like leaky gut syndrome have been linked to the long term use of antibiotics. This causes fatigue, low energy, arthritis, depression, among other things. That’s what we get with traditional acne treatments, some benefit but also terrible side effects.

Over the counter acne treatments and even fancy creams and lotions that you see on TV don’t treat the root cause of acne. And many times they may leave our skin much worse off. These products usually over dry and irritate our skin, leaving it red and looking even worse. It’s not a good solution.

We need to be going to the heart of the matter and treating our problem with a natural methods which not only clear our skin but create a healthier and more beautiful person in the process, that’s real healing. Natural methods involve topical skin care with natural treatments as well as internal healing of imbalances, and hormone balancing.

Each individual case of acne is different and can be treated with natural methods slightly differently. For some, removing certain foods and beverages is critical, for others it’s not an issue. For example many people have undiagnosed food allergies, commonly with wheat or dairy. A lot of times these issues are hard to detect, but rotating the foods out of the diet will help us know for sure.

Some people have heavy metal toxicity issues, especially if you live in an urban area. Toxins and low immunity are big problems and cause acne in many people. A detox diet or a detox juicing diet may be necessary to clear up the skin.

It’s best to educate yourself on all the natural healing methods available. Acne is an awful condition because it lowers our self esteem and effects every area of our lives. Studies show that people with clear skin are happier, more socially active, make more money, are more attractive, and so on and so on.

While improving his game with outstanding performances in the playoffs he fell short to the selection of the 2004 NBA All-Rookie Team, placing his third in rookie of the year voting just behind Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James.

In the first round of the 2005 NBA Playoffs, wade scored 26.3 points, 8 assists, 6 rebounds at 50% field-goal shooting as the Heat slammed the New Jersey Nets.
